Matt was born and raised in a suburb of Flint, Michigan. Early on in his life, Matt
developed a love for speaking and public service that led him to achieve the
rank of Eagle Scout and to serve as his Senior Class President. Matt would go
on to attend Michigan State University where he graduated in 2016 with his B.A.
in Economics.
After graduation, Matt joined Fisher Investments in Camas, Washington as an
associate under the tutelage of billionaire investor Ken Fisher. In 2018 he was
promoted to Investment Counselor where he worked with 190 households
totaling over $230M in assets and ended his tenure as a top quartile Investment
Counselor.
Matt left Fisher in 2021 to accept an offer as Vice President with Denver-based
Personal Capital, now Empower Personal Wealth. During his time at Personal
Capital, Matt was a trusted financial planning resource to over 100 households
totaling $40M in assets, of which were several members of the Forbes 30 Under
30.
In early 2023, Matt was sought to anchor the Pacific Northwest footprint for the
Kansas City-based Fortis Capital Advisors brand.
Outside of the office, Matt serves as Chairman of the Endowment Committee
for the Cascade Pacific Council of Scouting America, formerly the Boy Scouts
of America. Matt also serves on the Investment Committee at the Multnomah
Athletic Club. Matt is a freelance columnist and is published in The Detroit
News, Salem Statesman, and New York Observer.
Matt lives outside of Portland, Oregon with his wife Caroline. In his spare time
Matt enjoys hiking, backpacking, cycling, reading, writing, and traveling.
